Electronic Entertainment Expo Website Streams Over over 36,000,000,000,000(?) Bytes

Cramer’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3Expo) Website Breaks All Previous Records for the 4th Consecutive Year

Cramer’s Role: site development and content responsibility for www.e3insider.com, the official consumer website which drew 1.5 million visitors in one week.

Norwood, MA (PRWEB) June 21, 2006 -- Cramer, a Norwood, Massachusetts-based leader in the development and delivery of integrated marketing solutions, announced today that for the fourth year in a row, the Company’s website and content development assignment for the Electronic Entertainment Expo, (E3Expo), again achieved new milestones in the area of visitor traffic, downloads, and for its use of new and next-generation interactive technologies.

The official consumer website (
www.e3insider.com), entirely developed, populated and managed by Cramer for E3Expo, drew over 1.5 million visitors in a five day span, according to official statistics released by E3Expo. According to Alexa Internet, Inc., an independent Internet tracking company, E3Insider.com was the fourth most visited video game web site during the week of May 8 - May 12, 2006. During that period, the amount of data streamed and downloaded from the site was almost twice the size of the Library of Congress – over 36,000,000,000,000 bytes. At the same time, a downloadable video player called E3TV, an exclusive feature on the site, was downloaded and installed by more than 100,000 individuals.

The E3Expo is a unique conference and trade show open to trade professionals only. To satisfy a growing worldwide interest among consumers of electronic entertainment hardware and software products, E3Expo’s official 2006 consumer site – a year in the making – delivered a virtual portal to the event. This year, Cramer produced nearly 100 videos, shot and published 400 original photos and 50 interactive panoramas of the show floor. In all, according to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the site expanded its content by 250% this year, once again nearly tripling the amount of show coverage available on the site from year to year. The result: ‘virtually’ speaking, approximately 25 times more people joined the event online as were admitted to the actual physical event, representing a doubling of the previous year’s outcome. In fact, according to E3Expo, the consumer website built by Cramer climbed to one of the top 1,000 most visited sites in the world.

>From start to finish, Cramer was responsible for the planning, design and production of the website and its key media elements. Cramer’s team spent a year planning, readying and perfecting the highly anticipated website. This year’s combination of on-site and virtual E3Expo experiences amplified the show’s reach well beyond the walls of the convention center, resulting in the most exposure in E3Expo history.

This year, Cramer added many new, highly-interactive elements to the website to enhance the visitor experience. New features included:

Virtual E3
“Virtual E3” offered visitors an unprecedented, in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the exhibit floor. Fifty 360-degree panoramic tours of exhibits before and during show hours are linked to five interactive convention hall maps. Users on the site can literally look around the show floor, immersing them in the excitement of E3.

“E3TV,” E3 Insider’s exclusive video channel, saw more than 100,000 downloads during the show. The channel allows users to download free DVD-quality videos of original content such as: invite-only exhibitor events and press conferences including Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony full, uncut media events; up-to-the-minute show news from E3 Insider’s news program “Floored”; and unedited footage from the ‘FanCam’ that including exhibit tours and backstage views of restricted show areas as seen through the eyes of a game fan.

The general public could enter to win a grand prize trip to meet legendary recording artist and music producer of the Halo 2 soundtrack, Nile Rodgers. Also, a new “Games and Devices” feature gave visitors the opportunity to browse information about hundreds of games and products showcased at E3 2006.

Other features included images, iPod-compatible video downloads, exhibitor pages, show updates, a show blog, over 300 game trailers, and RSS feeds that allowed users to receive automatic news updates.

“The success of E3insider.com is a significant achievement for E3,” said Rob Everton, Cramer’s Director of Creative Technologies and Program Manager of E3insider.com. “By attracting over a million and a half consumers, E3Expo is not only extending the exhibitors’ reach way beyond the physical capacity of the event, but it is building a positive relationship with consumers. This is not only a success for E3Expo, but also for its exhibitors, who are able to build buzz and excitement for its products long before they reach store shelves,” said Everton.

B2B Chips Launched to Improve Independent Electronic Component Distribution in China

Company announces partnership with American independent distributor MGA Engineering.

Shenzen, China (PRWEB) June 19, 2006 -- B2B Chips, Ltd. today announced its formation to bring guaranteed quality to independent electronic component distribution in China. At the same time B2B Chips announced that it has been appointed Sales Partner for China by MGA Engineering, a leading independent distributor in Largo, Florida, USA that specializes in Zarlink, Mitel, Plessey and Zetex components and has one of the world's largest stocks of obsolete and hard to find parts.

“By sourcing from top quality suppliers, buying excess inventory from top-tier OEMs/EMS providers and offering a quality guarantee, B2B Chips will rapidly establish our reputation for having the gold standard for quality in China,” said George Huang, Product Manager of B2B Chips. “Our top notch sales people provide a level of service that reinforces our creed that customers are #1.”

Greg Minadeo, President of MGA said, “We studied entering the Chinese market for some time and we concluded that partnering with B2B Chips would give us the kind of jump start that could save us years of struggling. MGA's unique product knowledge and inventory together with B2B Chips services, gives Chinese customers a local access point to MGA that is quick and convenient. Most of MGA’s products are special, application specific components and many are obsolete and hard-to-find. Most distributors just do not have these products or the knowledge about these products to service customers well. For the past 10 years European and North American customers have benefited from doing business with MGA and now Chinese customers can do the same through our partnership with B2B Chips.”

“Our high ethical standards, solid partnerships and best-in-class MIS capability set B2B Chips apart from the thousands of other independent electronic component distributors in China,” said Harry Cochran, CEO of B2B Chips. “There are lots of North American and European suppliers who have been sitting on the sidelines as China has grown to become the world’s largest market for electronic components. We believe that partnering with B2B Chips is the best way for these companies to enter the Chinese market.”

Advanced Multi-Standard Mobile TV Chipset

New Kit Provides PC-Based Evaluation of Frontier Silicon’s Advanced Multi-Standard Mobile TV Chipset

Frontier Silicon, the market leader in semiconductor solutions for mobile TV and digital radio, has introduced a complete evaluation kit which will allow designers to explore the capabilities of its mobile TV chipset.

London (PRWEB) June 12, 2006 -- Frontier Silicon, the market leader in semiconductor solutions for mobile TV and digital radio, has introduced a complete evaluation kit which will allow designers to explore the capabilities of its mobile TV chipset. The kit, named Troy, contains Frontier Silicon’s Apollo RF receiver and Kino 2 chipset for mobile TV applications; software and documentation allowing a PC to act as the host processor in a mobile TV system, displaying up to four video streams simultaneously as well as dynamically configuring and monitoring various parameters; flexible interfacing to all the leading media processors; plus all necessary cables and documentation.

The Troy kit allows developers to test and measure the performance of Frontier Silicon’s mobile TV chipset in lab and real-life situations, and is fully configurable through a USB interface. It receives a T-DMB RF signal on Band III and L Band, and delivers an MPEG-2 transport stream to a host processor for audio and video decoding. Troy can process up to four simultaneous T-DMB streams, each displayed in a separate player window on the PC; the streams can be started and stopped using the AV control area’s play and stop buttons. Once evaluation is complete using the PC, a flexible media processor connector enables easy interfacing to media and application processor development kits, allowing quick mobile TV reference platform development.

The kit supports dual-band, multi-mode operation – Band-III, L-Band for T-DMB, eDMB, DAB-IP – and the software includes T-DMB decoder object code and reference PC utility source code. The SPI-USB bridge included allows a standard PC to act as the host processor, and the interface connector also contains serial SPC, GPIO and I2S signals. The media processor connector supports multiple supply voltages enabling connection to all popular media processor development kits.

The Apollo RF receiver and Kino2 baseband processor IC chipset provides mobile TV handset manufacturers with maximum flexibility to easily customize their products to meet the needs of their customers and offer high quality TV and radio services.

Apollo is the smallest low power RF tuner for T-DMB currently available. It measures just 5.0 x 5.0 x 0.9 mm, supports Band-III, Band II and L-Band reception, features market leading ultra-low power consumption of less than 80 mW and requires less than 20 external passive components.

Kino 2 delivers significant improvements in size, power consumption and cost compared to other IC solutions available today, resulting in longer battery life and reduced system size to enable mobile TV in smaller, slimmer phones. The chip consumes as little as 80 mW of power and supports a full decoding rate of over 1.8 Mbps

The Kino 2 IC is a true multi-mode device with built in flexibility through software customization, supporting all T-DMB variants as well as DAB and DAB-IP in a single chip. Its flexibility enables advanced software features such as conditional access and data services. When combined with the multi-band capability of the Apollo silicon tuner, handset vendors can produce mobile TV featured devices that are compatible with the requirements of all T-DMB markets worldwide including China, Korea and Germany.

Lead-Free Production Capabilities Added By Sunburst Electronics

Sunburst Electronics Adds New Lead-Free Production Capabilities in Keeping with European Environmental Protection Regulations

Sunburst Electronics, an electronic contract manufacturer based in Erie, Pa., expanded its production capabilities to include the manufacturing of lead-free electronic controls bound for Europe.

Erie, PA (PRWEB) June 9, 2006 -- Sunburst Electronics, an Erie-based electronic contract manufacturer, expanded its production capabilities to include the manufacturing of lead-free electronic controls bound for Europe. The European Union, via its RoHS environmental directive, mandated that lead-free solder materials be used in electronic products, effective July 1, 2006. Non-compliant companies exporting to Europe from the U.S. will otherwise be “locked out.”

To meet these changing market conditions and the higher temperature demands of lead-free solder compounds, Sunburst purchased an Electrovert OmniExcel 7 Solder Reflow Oven (with seven chambers) and an Electrovert Speedline Wave Solder machine, best-in-class brands produced by Massachusetts-based, Speedline Technologies. Having already received lead-free manufacturing orders, Sunburst’s new, seven-chamber, solder reflow oven meets higher temperature requirements for lead-free alloys but minimizes thermal stress on other electronic parts through a gradual, chamber-to-chamber heating process.

Dennis Cantoni, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Sunburst Electronics, said “Local businesses producing industrial controls, sensors, medical devices and other electronic products for Europe are facing major challenges when it comes to RoHS compliance. They must determine if they are exempt (or not) from RoHS regulations, generate compliant Bills of Material and transition to RoHS compliant manufacturing and inventory – a very disruptive process for manufacturers in our industry.”

In addition to adding new lead-free production capabilities, Sunburst is also partnering with local and regional companies to position them for RoHS compliance by identifying lead times associated with RoHS compliant parts, searching for alternative components or suppliers, evaluating current levels of non-compliant materials, determining strategies to maximize inventory use and creating compliant Bills of Materials.

Editor’s Note: Certified to ISO 9001:2000, Sunburst Electronics specializes in developing electronic assemblies (printed circuit boards, chassis assembly, cables and harnesses) for industrial machinery, control and measurement applications, instrumentation, avionics, transportation, transducers and medical devices, among others.

The company houses its operations in a 31,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility based in Erie, Pa., and maintains a separately staffed, 4,000-square-foot repair center specializing in end-of-life product management.

Originally founded in 1975 by Robert Heiges, Sunburst was purchased by Bliley Technologies, Inc., in 1986. Bliley (
www.bliley.com) is a manufacturer of quartz crystals and crystal oscillators used in the telecommunications, military and space industries.

International Law & Accounting Firm Network Expands

International Law & Accounting Firm Network MSI Continues Strong Growth With Appointment of 11 New Member Firms

MSI Legal & Accounting Network Worldwide (MSI) makes a series of strategic local firm appointments in key marketplaces around the world.

London (PRWEB) June 1, 2006 -- The selective appointment of new member firms in Brazil, China, India, Netherlands Antilles & Aruba, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the USA, boosts MSI's presence to over 240 law and accounting firm members in 95 countries.

By building a strong network of mid-market firms that serve clients of a similar size and profile, MSI is enabling law and accounting firms to develop their international practices and retain the business of those clients that need professional services in international jurisdictions. Just as importantly, MSI provides local firms with the resources they need in order to remain independent, rather than be swallowed up in a merger with a larger firm.

Joining MSI in Little Rock and Conway, Arkansas, is Jack Lyon & Jones PA, an 18-attorney commercial law firm providing a full range of commercial legal services.

In Sacramento, California, MSI welcomes Knudtson & Nutter, a new law firm with specialty practices in litigation, professional malpractice, labor and employment law, and women's rights.

Lehman Lee & Xu has strengthened its MSI presence in China by listing its office in Shenzhen, one of the world's fastest-growing cities. Lehman Lee & Xu is one of China's pre-eminent law firms and is particularly noted for its intellectual property and patent and trade mark practices.

In Sao Paulo, Brazil, MSI has appointed accounting firm Peppe Associados Consultores & Auditores, a firm that is registered with Brazil's Securities & Exchange Commission equivalent, the CVM.

Fanshawe Lofts, a firm of chartered accountants specialising in corporate recovery and insolvency, has joined MSI in Southampton in the UK.

In Istanbul, Turkey, Uskay & Co, a full-service law firm specialising in bankruptcy, litigation and employment law, has joined the network to better service its international client base.

Raju Shah Patel & Kotadia Associates, an accounting firm providing a full range of audit, accounting and tax related services, has been appointed in Ahmedabad, India's seventh largest city.

In Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Al Sabban Certified Accountants, an accountancy practice with a strong audit focus, will be able to provide its clients with an improved range of services using MSI affiliates throughout the Middle East and beyond.

Small Murray Scheper, Attorneys-at-Law, a full service commercial law firm based in the Netherlands Antilles and in Aruba, has joined MSI to extend the scope of services available to its clients.

James Mendelssohn, MSI's Chief Executive, says: "These appointments demonstrate that independent professional firms all over the world view MSI as a strategic marketing tool for winning new work and driving the growth of their international client bases."
